NEMA Suspends four of its officials this is after President William Ruto orders sacking and prosecution of officials who allowed the Embakasi gas plant to operate despite EPRA rejecting its permit severally. 3 people died and 280 were injured on Thursday night. This is after Kenyans protested online on why a watchman was arrested yesterday in connection to the fire and the "big fish" left roaming free.
Addressing the issue in Lugali on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024 morning, Ruto attributed the incident to corruption, lack of integrity, and greed among government officials responsible for granting the license to the operator. See below video:
Dp Rigathi on the other hand has promise to ask lawmakers to tighten regulations of the handling of petroleum products.
