Jowie Irungu gets emotional after being found guilty of Monica Kimani's murder
The High court in Milimani has today found Joseph Irungu alias 'Jowie' guilty of murdering Business woman Monica Nyawira Kimani on the night of 19th September, 2018.
Judgement on Jowie was as follows:
1. He lied that he didn’t know Monica 2. The ID used to access her home was stolen from the same place where Jowie and Jacque lived two days before the murder 3. His clothes including a blood stained short and a maroon cap were identified by five separate witnesses
4. He was the last person seen with Monica by two witnesses, one who didn’t testify 6. The gun he borrowed from Brian Kasaine was used to subdue Monica Kimani 7. Identification parade was FLAWED 8. Argument posed by Jowie that he couldn’t have committed a murder in 10 minutes thrown out 9. on shorts found in Jowie and Jacque’s home belonged to Monica 10. Statement on alleged shooting incident found to have been a lie 11. Jowie found to have been an unreliable witness 12. Malice aforethought proven. Prosecution proves he prepared to commit the murder
Jowie Irungu’s sister was seen wailing after her brother was found guilty of killing.
The High Court has cancelled Jowie Irungu's bond after his conviction. Justice Justice Grace Nzioka said Irungu will be held in custody until March 8, 2024.
On other news, Jacque Maribe acquitted in Monica Kimani murder; court finds she was not properly charged.
