Residents flee their homes over a suspected fresh gas leak in Embakasi

 Panic and exodus from Mradi village over suspected fresh gas leak, Embakasi residents report an ongoing gas leak in the same area where a fatal explosion occurred on Thursday night. Some locals are already fleeing the scene in panic.

Evacuation by the police underway. Sources suspect there is an entire underground tank at the Embakasi explosion site that remained untouched from the previous blast which could be the source of the ongoing gas leak.

This is as Wandugi Kirathe, the lawyer representing Derrick Kimathi, the proprietor of the illegal gas filling plant in Embakasi where a fire tragedy struck on Thursday, denies reports that his client has gone into hiding as detectives pursue seven suspects in connection to the incident which has left six dead and more than 200 hospitalized.
