UNDERSTANDING YOUR MAN

 UNDERSTANDING YOUR MAN

Men are something else; sometimes they don't speak, but they want to be heard and understood. They want their women to know that when they don't want to be bothered or disturbed, it doesn't mean they have fallen out of love with her or have found someone else. They just need time to think; in order not to be disturbed or distracted from such a process, they will like to be left alone. Maybe because they are not as multitasked as women are. Talking is not their natural way of solving things; they believe thinking alone is the best way. Sometimes they get trapped in their thinking without results.

Sometimes they need a friend who will listen to them, not for a solution but to know what they have been struggling with, to understand their frustration, and to see the difficulty they are faced with. They do that so you can understand them and also calm them down with your words, touch, comfort, etc.
But the truth is, sometimes men are misunderstood. Instead of his woman listening to his fear, difficulty, struggles, and putting herself in his shoes to understand what is happening to him and calm him down, she rather blows the issue out of proportion. She rather gets into the same mood and tries to make sense out of what he is thinking and link it to something else
When you do that, he doesn't only get lost, but he also distances himself from you and finds it hard to voice out his frustration next time. When you spot your man thinking about something and even asking about it, he prefers to say nothing. And that makes you worry even more.
He opens up to you as a friend, someone who will comfort him. Love for a man is sometimes comfort; it is how you calm us down and drive away his fears. Your comfort to your man, especially in a time of distress, confusion, anger, stress, and frustration, is like sunshine after the rain

Can you Eat a Slug and live to tell About it?

Before we proceed, You need to understand what is a slug"

Dictionary
Definitions from Oxford LanguagesLearn more
slug1
/slΙ™Ι‘/
noun
  1. 1.
a tough-skinned terrestrial mollusk which typically lacks a shell and secretes a film of mucus for protection. It can be a serious plant pest.

In 2010, Australian teenager Sam Ballard was drinking with his friends when they saw a slug crawl across the floor.

Sam’s friends dared him to eat the slug and after some debate he decided it would be funny, so he did. A few days later Sam became weak and complained of severe pain in his legs. After visiting the emergency room doctors told him that he had contracted a parasite known as ‘rat lungworm’ from the slug. Soon after the diagnosis, Sam fell into a coma, where he remained for 420 days. He woke up paralyzed, unable to eat without a tube or move without intense effort. He required 24-hour care, seven days a week. He died 8 years later in 2018.

Before the tragic incident, Sam Ballard was a promising 19-year-old rugby player from Sydney, Australia. He was popular in Sydney and described as a “larrikin” by his mother. His life took a turn when he made a random decision that would prove fatal during a weekend get-together with friends. The friends were having a “bit of a red wine appreciation night,” when a typical garden slug crawled out in front of them1. In a moment of teenage bravado, perhaps influenced by the wine, Ballard was dared to eat the slug. The slug that Ballard ate was carrying a parasitic worm usually found in rodents1. This worm can transfer to slugs and snails if they eat rodent excrement. When Ballard ate the live slug, it transferred to him. When a human ingests rat lungworm larvae, they penetrate the inner lining of the intestinal tract and work their way into the liver and lungs, then into the central nervous system. In most instances, rat lungworm disease causes only mild symptoms, if any, and most people who contract the illness recover within a matter of days or weeks. However, there are those rare instances where the symptoms are much more severe, as was the case with Sam Ballard. Ballard’s mother, Katie, was always optimistic for what the future held for him. For years, he suffered from seizures, was forced to eat and breathe through tubes and required constant care. His family struggled to pay for his care. In 2011, Katie Ballard wrote on Facebook that her son was “still the same cheeeeeeeekkkyyy Sam” and that she believed he would talk and walk again. His last words to his mother were, "I love you,".

Citizen TV Swahili News Anchor Swaleh Mdoe has been suspended from appearing on air.

swaleh Mdoe

A highly placed source at the Dennis Pritt Road-based media house told that the news anchor was suspended after skipping a 1:00 pm bulletin on Tuesday, January 23. Since then, Mdoe has not appeared on air for more than three weeks now. Our source indicated that the TV veteran had gone for a medical check-up on the day he missed presenting the daytime news bulletin. The journalist failed to notify his supervisor on the day in question, leading to the management's drastic decision to suspend him. When he returned to work the next day, he was summoned by his bosses who barred him from appearing on air indefinitely. It's said that Mdoe has been reporting to work every day as usual since the verbal suspension was issued. The seasoned news anchor hosts the Monday prime-time Swahili bulletin at 7:00 pm as well as the 1:00 pm bulletins on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. His career kicked off in 1991 with experiences in both print and electronic media. He has worked at the Kenya Times, Standard Newspapers, The Message, Weekly Mail, BBC, Nation TV, and KTN. Between 1999 and 2001, he served as a presenter at NTV before joining KTN where he was a news anchor and supervising the Kiswahili team between 2001 and 2006. He later switched to Citizen TV where he has been a permanent fixture on Kenyan screens since March 2007. In his career, Mdoe has won numerous awards among them Journalist of the Year by the Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ) as well as News Anchor of the Year (Kiswahili) for the year 2003 and again in 2004.
